Why NaturaLux™
How Do LED Light Covers Reduce Glare and Eye Fatigue?
Glare Eliminated at the Fixture
90% glare reductionReflects 90% of excess glare back into the troffer instead of into your eyes. Eliminates the harsh brightness that causes afternoon headaches, squinting, and eye fatigue under LED office and classroom lighting.
Reduces Brightness and Eye Fatigue
80% output retainedLED troffers and flat panels produce intense, blue-heavy light that causes eye fatigue, headaches, and afternoon discomfort. NaturaLux reduces output to 80% at the fixture, cutting the aggressive brightness without making your space feel dim.
Full-Spectrum Color Correction
CRI 88 to 95.3Corrects the blue-heavy LED spectrum across all visible wavelengths. Color Rendering Index improves from a standard CRI 88 to 95.3: colors appear accurate, natural, and easier to read under corrected LED light.
Fits Standard 2x4 Troffers. No Electrician.
Standard panel is 23¼" × 48", fits 2×4 LED troffers out of the box. Trimmable with scissors to fit 2×2 and most standard sizes. Installs on open fixtures (inside) or sealed panels (outside with tape or magnets). No tools or rewiring required.

Installation
How to Install LED Light Covers. No Tools. No Electrician.
NaturaLux filters install directly onto your existing fixtures. The method varies by fixture type, but every option is straightforward and tool-free.
1 Cut the Filter to Size
Place the filter inside the curved troffer cover to check the fit. Mark the width and length with a marker, then cut along the lines with ordinary scissors. Use this piece as a template for additional filters.
2 Form to the Curved Cover
Fit the trimmed filter into the curved cover: shiny side faces the light, matte side faces the floor. Press it into shape along the curve. One edge should sit flush with the cover edge.
3 Tape in Place and Reinstall
Secure the filter with transparent tape inside the cover, then reinstall the cover on the fixture. For flat LED panels or sealed troffers without a removable cover, affix double-sided tape to the shiny side and press onto the outer metal frame.
No removable cover? Flat LED panel?
Affix double-sided or magnetic tape to the shiny side of the filter. Press onto the outer metal frame of the fixture. Align one corner first, then press flat.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About LED Light Covers
What are LED light covers?
LED light covers (also called LED light filter covers, LED light filters, or LED troffer covers) are flat panels that lay on top of or inside LED troffer and flat-panel fixtures. NaturaLux LED light covers by Make Great Light are a clear optical filter: they use a patented micro-reflective polymer coating to reduce the harsh, over-bright blue-white LED spectrum into soft, balanced, full-spectrum light, similar to natural daylight. They reduce glare by 90% and improve color rendering from CRI 88 to 95.3. The technology is protected under three US patents: #4,989,953, #5,218,474, and #6,019,476. Unlike decorative sky panels or printed light covers, NaturaLux filters correct the quality of the light, not just the appearance of the ceiling.
How do you install an LED light cover on a troffer?
There are two methods depending on your fixture. Inside installation is preferred when available: check whether the curved troffer cover lifts or slides off. If it does, cut the filter to fit, place it inside the cover with the shiny side facing the light and matte side facing the floor, tape in place with transparent tape, and reinstall the cover. For flat LED panels or troffers where the cover does not open, affix double-sided or magnetic tape to the shiny side of the filter and press it onto the outer metal frame of the fixture. Align one corner first, then press flat. No rewiring and no electrician required for either method.
Do NaturaLux LED light covers work with sealed LED panels?
Yes. For sealed LED panels that do not have a removable lens, the filter sits on the outside surface of the fixture, secured with clear double-sided tape or magnets. The filtration performance is the same regardless of installation method: 90% glare reduction, 80% light transmission, and full UV blocking. If your fixture opens, installing inside gives a cleaner look.
What size LED light cover do I need?
NaturaLux LED light covers are 23¼" × 48", designed to fit standard 2×4 LED troffers. They can be trimmed to fit 2×2 fixtures or any smaller size using ordinary scissors; no special tools required. If your troffer is a non-standard size, measure the interior or exterior of the fixture (depending on your installation method) and trim the filter to match.
Will LED light covers make my room darker?
NaturaLux light covers for LED lights maintain about 80% light transmission. The 20% reduction is excess glare, not usable light, not useful illumination. Most people report that rooms feel brighter and more comfortable after installing, because the harsh glare that caused squinting and eye fatigue is gone. Light filters for LED lights are designed to remove the high-intensity blue-white frequency range that drives discomfort, while keeping 80% of usable light output. If your LED fixtures are extremely bright, some customers double-layer two filters to further soften the output.
Do LED lights emit UV radiation?
LED fixtures emit very little UV radiation, far less than fluorescent lights, and not at levels considered harmful to people or materials in normal office and classroom settings. UV blocking is the primary reason to filter fluorescent lights, where UV output is a real concern. For LED troffers and flat panels, the main reasons to use NaturaLux covers are glare reduction and brightness correction. LED ceiling fixtures are among the brightest and most visually aggressive light sources in commercial buildings, and their blue-heavy spectrum causes eye fatigue, afternoon headaches, and visual discomfort with extended exposure. NaturaLux reduces that aggressive brightness by 90% and corrects the spectrum to soft, balanced, full-spectrum light.
Are NaturaLux LED light covers safe for use in offices and schools?
Yes. NaturaLux LED light covers carry a Class A fire rating, making them compliant for use in commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, and government facilities. The filter material is optical-grade modified impact acrylic that is non-yellowing, contains no off-gassing materials, and has been in service in commercial and institutional settings for decades. Contact us if your facility requires safety documentation for procurement.
What is the difference between an LED light cover and a fluorescent tube cover?
The fixture type determines the product. LED light covers are flat panels designed for flush-ceiling LED fixtures: troffers and flat panels. They lay on top of or inside the fixture opening. Fluorescent tube covers are sleeves that slide over individual T5, T8, or T12 fluorescent tubes in suspended strip lights, shop lights, and exposed-lamp housings. If your fixture hangs from chains, brackets, or stems, and you can see the individual lamp tubes, you need our fluorescent tube covers at /products/fluorescent-light-tube-covers.
What is the difference between an LED light cover and a fluorescent light cover?
The light source determines the product. The NaturaLux LED light cover at this page is designed for flush-ceiling LED troffer and flat-panel fixtures. The fluorescent light cover at /products/fluorescent-light-covers is designed for flush-ceiling fluorescent troffer fixtures: parabolic, prismatic, and flat-lens types. The two products are the same size and material, but the LED cover is optimized for the blue-white LED spectrum and the fluorescent cover for the yellow-green fluorescent spectrum. If you have a mix of LED and fluorescent fixtures, order from the corresponding page for each fixture type.
Do NaturaLux LED light covers work with all LED brands and models?
Yes. NaturaLux LED light covers are brand-agnostic and work with any standard 2×4 LED troffer or flat-panel fixture regardless of manufacturer. The filter works at the fixture opening, not inside the LED driver or electronics, so brand, wattage, and color temperature do not affect compatibility. The standard panel size covers virtually all commercial 2×4 ceiling fixtures, and trimming to 2×2 works without affecting performance.
What is full-spectrum LED light and why does it matter?
NaturaLux LED light covers are full-spectrum light filters that correct the narrow, blue-heavy spectrum of standard LED fixtures into balanced, daylight-like light. Standard LED fixtures produce a spectrum that can cause eyestrain, headaches, visual fatigue, and disrupted sleep patterns with extended exposure. Full-spectrum light contains all visible wavelengths in balanced proportions, similar to natural daylight. NaturaLux corrects the LED spectrum by reflecting excess blue-white energy back into the fixture and redistributing the remaining wavelengths more evenly. The result is a Color Rendering Index (CRI) improvement from a standard 88 to 95.3, meaning colors look more accurate, natural, and easier to see. In offices and classrooms, full-spectrum light is associated with fewer afternoon headaches and better sustained focus.
How long do NaturaLux LED light covers last?
NaturaLux LED light covers are rated for 10+ years of continuous use. The filter material is optical-grade modified impact acrylic that resists yellowing, cracking, and heat degradation under normal LED fixture operating temperatures. Most commercial installations require no replacement for the life of the fixture. Light dusting is the only maintenance needed.
